Blacktown Catholic Community
The Blacktown community is a health, education, research and training ‘hub’ in greater Western Sydney and a key provider of jobs for the greater Parramatta and western Sydney. Significant growth is expected over the next 30 years in Greater Western Sydney.
The Catholic Community - including Catholic Education, Catholic Care, NSW police and migrant group leaders. Fire up helped to reimagine their role in the community.
HOW WE HELPED
- Conducted a change leader readiness assessment
- Prepared leaders for “grassroots engagement and listening” to understand needs and reshape the services provided to the Blacktown community
- Conducted a joint forum with Catholic community leaders and key members of the community (50 participants) to reimagine a vision and purpose for the Catholic community
- Lifted Catholic Community leader capacity and capability to lead change
OUTCOMES
- Engaged 50 community stakeholders to get aligned around a shared vision
- Agreed partnering and governance to achieve outcomes
- Built momentum for community-led change
- Deepened understanding of needs with stories and personas
- Strengthened leadership capacity to drive change.
